QMobile is the largest importer with nearly a million units shipped every month, followed by Nokia Pakistan that imports up to 400,000 mobile phones each month.The company operates with a different business model as compared to companies like Samsung and Nokia: although it calls itself a mobile phone company, QMobile does not manufacture its own devices; instead, it imports them from vendors in China, and sells them under its own brand. The same phones are sold in India for example under the Micromax label.

Lenovo Story

Lenovo products include PC, Smarthphon, Thinkpad etc. Liu Chuanzhi founded Lenovo on 1 November 1984 with a group of ten engineers in Beijing with 200,000 yuan.Its  former name was “Legend”. In May 1988, Lenovo placed its first recruitment advertisement. The ad was placed on the front page of the China Youth News. Such ads were quite rare in China then. Out of the 500 respondents, 280 were selected to take a written employment exam.

In 2010 Lenovo introduces LePhone, its first smartphone. While in 2013, Lenovo becomes the world’s #3 smartphone company.

While in 2015:

  • Lenovo sold its 100-millionth ThinkPad.
  • ShenQi, Lenovo’s new internet-based smart device business unit, released its first product, the Zuk smartphone.
  • Lenovo hosted Tech World in Beijing, an event that sets the vision for the future ecosystem of connected devices.
  • Lenovo reached #231 in the Fortune 500 list.
  • Interbrand listed Lenovo among the top 100 global brands.
  • Boston Consulting Group ranked Lenovo among the top 50 most innovative companies worldwide.

 

After that in 2016:

  • Lenovo expands partnership with SAP to develop agile cloud solutions.
  • Lenovo partners with Nutanix to bring invisible infrastructure to data centers around the world.
  • Lenovo collaborates with Google to develop the world’s first mobile device with 3D motion tracking and depth sensing.
